ADAM FELDMAN: CO-FOUNDER AND CIO
Adam Feldman is a Portfolio Manager and Founder of Avante Global, a private investment firm with a concentrated and long-term global equity strategy. Prior to Avante, Adam was one of six partners at Northern Cross, LLC, an international asset management firm, which managed > $50 billion in a concentrated global equity strategy. Prior to joining Northern Cross, Adam was an investment specialist at Cascade Asset Management, the investment office for Bill Gates and the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation. Adam worked on the internal equity team, which managed a concentrated portfolio of $40 billion invested in global leading stocks. Before that, Adam was an investment banking analyst at Bear Stearns. Adam has more than fifteen years experience at firms with some of the longest time horizons in the investment industry. Both firms have very small teams, where Adam played a key role in generating investment ideas and provided significant input on portfolio management decisions. He has developed numerous relationships with business owners, and with managers who think like owners, and believes strongly that a well-aligned structure between investors and managers is essential for generating excess returns. Adam graduated cum laude from the University of Pennsylvania Wharton School in economics. Adam is a CFA charterholder.
HOWARD APPLEBY: CO-FOUNDER AND SENIOR ADVISOR
Howard Appleby was most recently one of six partners and three co-portfolio managers at Northern Cross, LLC, which Howard joined in 2002. Prior to joining Northern Cross, Howard was a managing director at ABN Amro Securities. Howard began his career in investing in 1982 as an equity analyst at W. Greenwell & Co. As a founding partner of Northern Cross, Howard helped to develop and successfully apply the philosophy of long-term global investing, which Howard helped to build to $60B in assets under management. Howard’s views on the importance of deep company and industry-level due diligence and the benefits of exceptionally-long investment time horizons have been instrumental in forming his and the Avante team’s long-term culture. Howard graduated from the University of Exeter. Howard is a CFA charterholder. Howard is a dual British and American citizen, and has been a student of the markets for almost 40 years.
JOSHUA ALPERT: PRINCIPAL AND RESEARCH ANALYST
Josh has spent over 20 years as an International and EM Portfolio Manager, including 10 at Moore Capital Management, 3 at Soros Asia(Indus Capital), and 4 at Alliance Bernstein where he worked on the Digital Assets team. Josh has covered Tech, Consumer, Healthcare, and Industrials with a deep bottoms-up approach coupled with a macro-overlay. Throughout his career, Josh generated strong returns and preserved capital during volatile market episodes. Josh received his BA from Tufts University and his MBA from Columbia Business School.
